Carnauba wax comes from a palm tree whose large green leaves are coated with it. It is also called Brazilian wax because these palms grow in the northeast of Brazil. Like other waxes, it is mainly used as a coating and anti-caking agent. It adheres effectively to foodstuffs, protects them from drying out and retains their color. Its use is considered safe.
